Ellie the grandpuppy

this is ellie's 1st picture that j sent me when he and k found her at a local animal shelter during their spring break 2007. he sent me this picture to see what i thought...... and if you know me you know exactly what i was thinking......... adorable and so sweet. when they brought her home, she got them a little worried though. first thing she did was fall in the pool and k had to fish her out and then she jumped in my tiny fish pond. thank goodness she didn't do that anymore!!!
Jordan visited us on July 4th weekend. I hadn't seen him since March and his dad hadn't seen him since Feb. Sooooo it was time for a visit. Unfortunately, K couldn't come because she was scheduled to work so that was no fun for her and we missed having her here. We had been keeping Ellie when J & K went on their vacation so he was here to pick her up. She didn't much care for the water, but i think she looks pretty cute.

where in the world does the time go?!?!?

do you remember when you were a child and it seemed like time was standing still between one birthday to the next? well, i'm here to say as you get older, time seems to fly by. my, it's already july 18th and school starts one month from today which also happens to be my 29th wedding anniversary. wow!! how could i have been married for sooo long when i am so young? i wish my body looked as young as i feel. i bet my husband wishes that, too!!!

at the end of may or beginning of june, our son told us he may be moving to B.R. well, on monday, we found out it had been approved. he texted me to tell me the news, but the text didn't come through and he called his dad cause he was a little worried that i was upset. i really wasn't though. i knew it would be farther to drive, but i knew it was a great opportunity for both my son and his bride. soooooo, i see it as a new place to explore. i'll be watching southwest flights to see if they have any specials...... so watch out J & K. i am sad though since i probably won't meet them halfway anymore to get my grandpuppy, ellie, to babysit when they go on trips. my son has been married almost 7 months now so this will be the first year we begin alternating which holiday the kids will visit us. Sooooo for the first time in 24 years, j will not be here for Thanksgiving. that does make me sad, but they will be here for Christmas or we will visit them.

i have almost finished one of my summer's many projects. i repainted my son's old room. it needed an update since now he has graduated from college and no longer lives here. it also only had a twin bed and since he got married in Dec. i thought it might be nice to have a bigger bed. my husband thought they would be fine with the twin?!?! MEN!!! i sent jordan pics of the new room and i wasn't expecting rave reviews after all it wasn't exactly his style or color, but i didn't quite expect this in an email:

"what the crap did you do?!?!?!?!?!!? that is horrible. I refuse to sleep there.:)"

Kristeen did like it though and that is what matters :) I told him he could always sleep on the inflatable mattress or the couch or he could stay at holiday inn express or our one great local motel!!!

just the beginning...

at this moment there is a constant banging on my roof and for a good reason.....
you see on june 19th, lightning struck my chimney and it sort of flew everywhere and today they are replacing the back portion of my roof. the chimney was rebuilt. so much to be thankful for though...... no fire and nothing that cannot be replaced. i am very happy to hear the banging cause it means we are one step closer to be finished. a check from the insurance company would be great, too!!
