Summer updates to my house

This summer ends on a very happy note. I have new floors. They are beautiful and amazing.  About 4 years ago I very ambitiously ripped up the carpet in my dining room and den. My hubby removed the flooring from the entry way and I worked and slaved and worked some more on preparing the floors for concrete stain. I really liked the way they looked but unfortunately they didn't last as long I had hoped. Sooooo I was past due for new flooring.

We chose a wood laminate for the main living areas, the hallway and master bedroom. 

We carpeted the other 2 bedrooms.

looks like this bedspread needs to be replaced with the new carpet!!! 

I am very pleased with the end result.  It took a while getting everything ready for the installation which was very tiring, but I wouldn't change anything.

A Spring Break Project

all this stuff was on my back porch.......

it's starting to look a little better, but lots more to do.......

i decided to get rid of the chairs. they needed new cushions and i couldn't find any already made and i didn't want to try, because i didn't really like them that much. i took the bench from my bedroom and recovered the cushion---so quick and easy to do. then i took jordan's papasan chair from the garage.

the curtains i have had forever and never used in the house. sarah used one of them in college, so i thought why not put them on the porch. See the glider in the background. It's another project I started, but it's far from done. It's really old and something my mom and dad gave me so I really want it to look good.

what do you think?
i'm really working on getting organized and cleaning up and out. i'm either getting rid of or re-purposing stuff that is just lying around. you heard/read it here hubby. are you ready for this??

now i'm off to pull weeds and clean up the flower beds before the cold front comes in. cold, cold, go away come again some november day. let's stay spring, please!

i have almost finished one of my summer's many projects. i repainted my son's old room. it needed an update since now he has graduated from college and no longer lives here. it also only had a twin bed and since he got married in Dec. i thought it might be nice to have a bigger bed. my husband thought they would be fine with the twin?!?! MEN!!! i sent jordan pics of the new room and i wasn't expecting rave reviews after all it wasn't exactly his style or color, but i didn't quite expect this in an email:

"what the crap did you do?!?!?!?!?!!? that is horrible. I refuse to sleep there.:)"

Kristeen did like it though and that is what matters :) I told him he could always sleep on the inflatable mattress or the couch or he could stay at holiday inn express or our one great local motel!!!
