a letter to my husband:
Dear hubby,
30 years ago today i married you. we were young and in love. now we are older, but still in love. we have had our good times and some bad, but we have stood together. thank you for being strong when i was weak. thank you for walking beside me and not in front. you laugh with me and wipe my tears and tell me i will be okay. you have put up with my impulsiveness, my craziness, and my moods for 30 years. for that alone you deserve an award.
you have been there for me in very difficult situations like when my parents were sick. you came and sat beside me with my dad. you could talk to him when i was crying by the window. i admire your strength and your concern for others. i love that you can get tears in eyes with me, but continue to be strong for me.
i like to lie in the bed with you. i love to cuddle. i love our children and our dogs and our grand puppy. i can't wait until we have grandbabies.
i'm glad you like bonnie hunt. i wish we could be on her show together. i love to watch her show with you after work. it's okay that you love her as long as you love me more.
let's stay married another 30 years!!
love,
your wifey

life lessons we can learn from our dogs
my hubby found this. it's a good read and is currently posted on our frig, but i had forgotten it was there.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy. Take naps. Stretch before risings. Run, romp, and play daily. Thrive on attention and let people touch you. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do. On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree. When you're happy, dance around and way your entire body. When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk. Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently. ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!!!

i do know former President Ronald Reagan said, " Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God."
i love my doggies. when i feel bad, they come and sit by me. they are always happy to see me. they love me unconditionally. i should be more like my dogs.
A friend of mine, Judy McWhorter, from my church youth group when I was growing up recently published a book called Devotions for Dog Lovers
She is definitely a dog lover just as I am. I think it's a book worth recommending.
