it was raining. in fact it was raining very, very hard. i was just thinking i am going to get soaking wet when i have car duty after school. shortly after this, i picked up my last group of kids. i had just explained to them their activity and our principal came on the loud speaker and said, "we are going to initiate a shelter in place". i thought this was a good time to practice with the storm and all. little did i know this was right outside our school. my school is directly to the right of the church. i'm glad i thought it was a drill. it keeps me calmer. the kids that were with me were great and they didn't know anything was wrong either.
