Our trip to Baton Rouge

It's Sunday, Nov. 30 and I have to go back to work tomorrow after the holidays and it sort of bums me out. We had a great holiday. On Sat. Nov. 22nd, we got up early and left about 6:00 am. YES, that's early, but I woke up and was ready to go. Sooo, off we went. We arrived at J & K's house and got to see all the painting Kristeen had done in the house. She did a wonderful job. I love their house and the neighborhood they are in. We went out to eat mexican food and it was pretty yummy. My new vegetarian lifestyle does limit my food choices, but as I told my son. I can always find something to eat, so don't worry about me. That evening we were playing games. We first played Scene It on the X-box 360 and it was really fun. Kristeen was the big winner on both games. Then I did something for the first time:
I had so much fun!! Jordan played the bass guitar, Kristeen was on the drums, and I was the singer!!! Hubby and Ellie were resting and sleeping and snoring.....At first I didn't know too many songs, but then we found quite a few that I did know and we played it for over 2 hours. I had the greatest time!!! I can't wait to do it again. Now I'm looking for some good karaoke game for my Wii.

Sunday we went to the Baton Rouge Zoo. It was a beautiful day and wonderful being outside with the family. After the zoo, we went to eat at Walk Ons which is right beside LSU. Then J and hubby went to the LSU basketball game and K and I went back to the house and I made J a peanut butter pie for his birthday. On the way home from the basketball game, we went to a drive through daiquiri store.

YES, it's was hard to believe but you can drive through and get your favorite flavor in a cup or by the gallon!! As long as you don't put your straw into the cup, you have a closed container. Monday, J had to work so we hung at the house and took Ellie for a long walk. That afternoon we went to see Twilight. I had almost finished the book and K said this would be a movie Jordan wouldn't want to see so we decided to go. I enjoyed it; but didn't think it was as good as the book. It was a good outing though and my eyes enjoyed the viewing pleasures provided by the actors! That evening Jordan and Kristeen took us to

What can I say? But---great, delicious, enjoyed tremendously, and want to go back!! We had 2 cheese fondues followed by 2 flaming dessert fondues: bananas foster and chocolate turtle. MMMH! MMMH! GOOD!! That's what MELTING POT was. Take me back again!!

This is an amazing picture my husband took at Bluebonnet Swamp, our last stop before leaving Baton Rouge on Tuesday.

I'll post more pictures later. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
